Zakariya is a filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller who has been creating for the past ten years.

He started his career in sports, documenting football and basketball and telling the stories of the athletes behind the game. That experience eventually led him to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he continued developing his approach to visual storytelling.

While at USC, he became increasingly interested in music videos and short narrative films, exploring different ways to build worlds and tell stories through image, performance, and character. Since then, he has produced, first AD’d, and run projects for major music labels as well as independent productions.

Over time, Zakariya has realized that what interests him most is building narratives around people. Whether through sports, music, or film, he is drawn to the stories, personalities, and moments that make people who they are.
